Tincograph

Brand

Writing about Tincograph, or linking to it? Take what you need. The rules below are short and they are the whole of it.

Download the kitSVG and PNG marks, the palette, and these rules as JSON.

The marks

  • Tincograph mark

    Mark

    The default. Gradient, transparent background.

  • Tincograph mark on a tile

    Mark on a tile

App icons, and any background we do not control.

  • Tincograph one colour

    One colour

Single-colour print, embroidery, and anything under 16px.

Clear space and size

Keep clear space equal to the height of the mark's folded corner (one eighth of the mark height) on every side.

Minimum height 16px. Below 16px use mark-mono: the gradient turns to mud and the engraved rules close up.

Colours

  • amber

    #d9a35b

primary accent — buttons, the warm end of the gradient

  • patina

    #6fb3b8

secondary accent — links, the cool end of the gradient

  • ink

    #0a0b0f

the dark surface everything is drawn on

  • paper

    #faf9f6

    the light surface

  • amber on light

    #8a5a12

amber, darkened so text on paper clears WCAG AA

  • patina on light

    #1f6368

patina, darkened for the same reason

Typeface

Inter, under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 —https://rsms.me/inter/.Variable weight. Headings at 600, body at 400. Never a second display face — the mark carries the personality.

The name

One word, one capital. The apps are 'Tincograph AI', 'Nova terminal', 'Tincograph video editor', 'Tincograph gallery' and 'camera link' — only the first word of a product name is capitalised unless it is a proper noun.

Written Tincograph — not TinCograph, Tincograf, tincograph (mid-sentence).

Please do not

  • Do not recolour the mark. The gradient is the brand; a flat fill is mark-mono, which exists for that.
  • Do not stretch, rotate or skew it. It is square and stays square.
  • Do not add a shadow, outline, bevel or glow.
  • Do not place the gradient mark on a busy photograph — use mark-on-dark, which brings its own tile.
  • Do not rebuild the wordmark by typing 'Tincograph' in another face.
  • Do not use the mark to imply a partnership, endorsement or affiliation that does not exist.

Using the name

The Tincograph name and marks are not covered by the code licence. They may be used to refer to Tincograph — in an article, a review, a comparison, a list of tools you use — without asking. They may not be used as your own mark, modified, or used in a way that suggests we endorse you.

Anything else, ask: hello@tincograph.com.
