Frequently asked questions
What exactly is a credit?
A credit is the unit we charge generation in. A short chat reply is about one credit, a long reasoning answer about three, an image about eight. Local-only features — the camera link, Nova's terminal, sync — never spend credits at all.
What happens when I run out?
Generation stops and the composer shows an upgrade prompt. Nothing is deleted, nothing is hidden, and every local-only feature keeps working. You are never billed for going over.
Do unused credits roll over?
No. The allowance resets each month. We would rather keep the price low than sell you a balance you never spend.
Can I use my own model API key instead?
Yes, on every plan including free. Point the AI app at any OpenAI-compatible endpoint and that usage costs you nothing from your Tincograph allowance. Your key stays in your browser.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Cancelling keeps your access until the end of the period you already paid for, then drops you to the free plan. Your data stays; only the paid features switch off.
What happens to my data if I leave?
You can export everything tied to your account as JSON at any time from the account page. Deleting your account removes it after a 14-day grace period, during which signing back in cancels the deletion.
