Nova

A browser for your Mac where every tab is also a terminal.

Open the page and the shell side by side in one tab, drive both from one window, and keep bookmarks, settings and tabs on your account. Free on every plan, including the free one.

  • Page and shell, one tab

The docs on one side, the command you are running on the other. No second app to switch to and no window to hunt for.

  • Your phone can drive it

Pair your phone once and it can open a tab, rename it, switch to it or close it, and find your Mac again on the network.

  • Tincograph AI in the side pane

Sign in inside the pane and the assistant can open a terminal block, read the tab you are on, or save a bookmark. Same account, same history as the web app.

Tabs that hold both halves of the job

A tab is a small layout, not a single page. Put a web block on one side and a terminal block on the other, split again when you need a third thing, and keep the arrangement when you come back to it.

  • Web and terminal blocks live in the same tab
  • Layouts persist per tab, so a working setup survives a relaunch
  • The shell is a real PTY on your Mac, not a web emulator talking to a server

Paired with your phone, end to end

Pairing registers the Mac against your account with the fingerprint of its remote-access certificate. The phone pins that fingerprint and checks the live certificate before it trusts anything, so the link is between your two devices rather than through us.

  • The phone verifies the Mac's certificate fingerprint on every connection
  • "Find my Mac" uses the local address the Mac registered, so it works on your own network
  • Every paired device is listed on your account page and can be revoked there

A remote surface that is allowlisted per action

The phone is not given the run of the machine. Four tab commands are on the remote allowlist: create, rename, activate, close. Anything outside that list is refused by name, including reading the names of your secrets.

  • The whole remote surface is four tab actions: create, rename, activate, close
  • Terminal contents never cross the link; the PTY and its output stay on the Mac
  • Settings keys that look like a token, key or password are excluded from every read

Bookmarks, settings and tabs on your account

Nova syncs through the same account as the rest of Tincograph. Bookmarks reconcile three ways — the last snapshot, the file on disk and the copy on your account — so an edit on either side survives instead of being flattened.

  • Bookmarks merge per item, with tombstones for deletions
  • The syncable part of settings mirrors both ways; secrets are never in it
  • Tabs and layouts are mirrored read-only, one document per device

How it differs from a browser plus a terminal app

You can already run two apps side by side. What you cannot do is give them one tab, one account and one paired phone.

Frequently asked questions

Which platform does Nova run on?

macOS. That is the desktop build we ship and support today, and it is on the download page. The phone side is the companion app that pairs with it.

Can the paired phone read what is in my terminal?

No. Terminal output never leaves the Mac; it does not cross the remote link or the assistant bridge. The phone's remote surface is an allowlist of four tab commands, and a request for anything else, including the names of your secrets, is refused.

What can the assistant do without asking?

Reading is granted: the current tab, your bookmarks, the non-secret part of settings, the tab list. Acting is not. Opening a terminal, running a command in it, navigating the tab, writing a bookmark or a setting each need a one-time approval for that origin.

Does Nova cost credits?

No. Nova and its sync are free on every plan, including free forever. Credits are only spent when you ask a model to generate something, and even then only if you are using our credits rather than your own key.

Start with the free plan

Local-only features are free forever, and the free plan includes a monthly credit allowance. No card to try it.
