Tincograph AI
An AI workspace that keeps your work, not just your chats.
Chats, projects and the artifacts a model produces all live in one place and follow your account across devices. Bring your own model keys or use the credits in your plan.
Projects, not a wall of chats
Group related chats under a project with shared instructions, so you stop re-explaining context every time you start.
Artifacts are kept
Code and documents a model produces are pulled out of the transcript and stored per chat, where you can find them again.
Your keys or our credits
Point it at any OpenAI-compatible endpoint and your key never leaves your browser, or spend the credits included in your plan.
One account, every device
Sign in once and your chats, projects, bookmarks and settings are there on your Mac, your phone and the web. Sync is conflict-aware, so two devices editing at once do not overwrite each other.
- Last-write-wins with explicit versions, never a silent overwrite
- Works offline and reconciles when you come back
- Revoke any device from your account page
Bring your own provider
Any OpenAI-compatible endpoint works: OpenAI, OpenRouter, a local Ollama, or your own vLLM box. Keys are stored in your browser and sent only to the endpoint you configure — they never touch our servers.
- Add providers as a small JSON block in settings
- Switch model per chat from the picker
- A built-in mock provider means the app works with no key at all
Credits you can actually see
The composer shows what you have left, every generation is logged against your account, and you get a warning before you run out rather than a surprise wall.
- A monthly allowance on every plan, including free
- Spending is an append-only ledger — you can audit it
- Local-only features never cost credits
It runs inside Nova too
Open Tincograph AI in Nova's side pane and it can drive the browser: open a terminal block, read the current tab, drop a bookmark. Same account, same history, no second login.
- Terminal blocks from a chat
- Bookmarks sync both ways
- Works on the website exactly the same
How it differs from a plain chat app
Most AI chat products are a transcript. This is a workspace with an account behind it.
| Tincograph | Typical chat app | |
|---|---|---|
| Where your work lives | Projects, chats and artifacts on your account | One long transcript |
| Model choice | Your key, your endpoint, or our credits | Whatever the vendor runs |
| Key handling | Stays in your browser, sent only to your endpoint | Held by the vendor |
| Across devices | Same account on Mac, phone and web | Usually per-device or web-only |
| Cost visibility | A credit ledger you can read | Opaque message limits |
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an API key to use it?
No. Every plan, including free, comes with a monthly credit allowance, and there is a built-in mock provider so the whole app works before you configure anything. Adding your own key is optional and makes your usage free of our credits.
Where is my API key stored?
In your browser only. It is sent to the endpoint you configured and nowhere else — it is never transmitted to or stored on Tincograph servers.
What happens when I run out of credits?
Generation stops with a clear prompt to upgrade rather than silently degrading. Your chats, projects and artifacts stay exactly where they are, and local-only features keep working.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Your account page has a one-click JSON export of everything keyed to your account, and account deletion removes it after a 14-day grace period.
Start with the free plan
Local-only features are free forever, and the free plan includes a monthly credit allowance. No card to try it.
